Earlier this month AAHKS joined more than 45 orthopaedic specialty and state societies to provide HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra and CMS Acting Administrator Liz Richter with rulemaking guidance for the No Surprise Act of 2020. The Act, which will provide for surprise billing laws starting January 1, 2022, was signed into law and now requires rulemaking. The letter includes advice on balance billing options, in-network rate calculation, and the effects some state regulations could have on surprise billing. For more information, read the letter.
