AMA House Passes Policy for Medicare Payment Reform – Take Action

AAHKS participated in this week’s AMA House of Delegates, where they passed a resolution to “declare Medicare physician payment reform as an urgent advocacy and legislative priority.” This includes prioritizing funding for advocacy for physician payment to be “updated annually at least equal to the annual percentage increase in the Medicare Economic Index” and work for “predictable, sustainable, fair physician payment.” To that end, you can write Congress today, telling them to provide annual inflation-based MEI updates for Medicare physician payment and to fix prior authorization by finalizing reforms to the Medicare Advantage prior auth process.
