Annual Meeting Events Focus on Diversity and Inclusion

In partnership with Nth Dimensions, an organization founded by orthopaedic surgeons to address health care disparities for all communities, AAHKS hosted a hands-on workshop for approximately 75 minority STEM students from local Dallas high schools to nurture students’ curiosity in medicine and orthopaedics through surgeon-led talks and interactive mock surgeries using real surgical tools and lifelike bones. The AAHKS Diversity Advisory Board (DAB) is hosting a luncheon, “Getting to the Heart of the Matter: A Conversation on Race with Bomani Jones,” a discussion with sports journalist Bomani Jones on overcoming diversity to achieve great things. DAB will also present its Diversity Award during tomorrow’s General Session.
