The Need for Longer-Acting Local Anesthetics for Postoperative Pain Management
Thursday, November 5
12:30-2:30 p.m.
Avanos
While the anterior approach for total hip arthroplasty (THA) has excellent clinical outcomes, there are compromises associated with this approach, including the need for short femoral stems and offset instrumentation. In this session, surgeon faculty will review how the use of a portal in the anterior approach can make the femur as easy as the acetabulum, decrease the incidence of wound concerns and thigh numbness, and eliminate the need for these compromises.
