FOCAL: Fellows Orthopaedic Continued AAHKS Learning
Specifically tailored to Adult Reconstruction Fellows and Senior Residents FOCAL RecordingsJOA Reviewer ProgramFOCAL arose during the COVID-19 pandemic, which significantly impacted the fellowship learning experience in 2020 and beyond. To help address this, AAHKS created the FOCAL Initiative – a free, online, interactive learning experience for arthroplasty surgeons in training.
The FOCAL Committee, led by William G. Hamilton, MD, is dedicated to building on the initiative’s success, enhancing adult reconstruction fellow education and supplementing the overall knowledge of arthroplasty trainees. Through FOCAL’s ongoing relevance and popularity, arthroplasty fellows and senior residents may participate in interactive lectures and case discussions with many of the country’s top adult reconstruction surgeons in live, monthly webinars and via our library of 60+ FOCAL webinar recordings. View recordings here.
Please note: FOCAL Session participation is free, open to all arthroplasty surgeons, and will not award CME.
The FOCAL Committee also created the JOA Reviewer Mentorship Program to attract fellows into the research peer-review process. The program trains residents, fellows and physicians early in practice on how to effectively review a journal article. Participants are matched with a current JOA Elite Reviewer who help them complete their first reviews and answer questions. Apply today.
