Healio reported this month that it will take more than 200 years to achieve gender parity among orthopaedic surgeons. “With the proportion of female orthopedic surgeons increasing at a rate of 2% annually, the orthopaedic profession is projected to achieve gender parity in 217 years, or by 2236.” The original research was published in the Clinical Journal of Orthopedic and Related Research.
