A study in The Bone & Joint Journal at a single institution examined the impact of approach on periprosthetic joint infection (PJI). Researchers compared the direct anterior (DA) approach to other surgical approaches (NA) and “found a higher rate of PJI in DA versus NA approaches.” Read the abstract.
