The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill issued a statement this week that head football coach, Mack Brown, underwent a successful knee replacement at Duke University Hospital – and that the surgery was performed by one of his former players. AAHKS President Michael P. Bolognesi, MD played for Coach Brown as a defensive back from 1989-1993. “Carolina produces a lot of special people and I’m happy we were able to play a small part in Mike’s development because we counted on him and he, along with the rest of the surgical and anesthetic team, did a tremendous job,” Brown stated. Dr. Bolognesi expressed his well wishes that his coach/patient continues to do well in his recovery. Full story.
