AAHKS Comments on CMS IPPS Proposed Rule

This week AAHKS submitted comments on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Inpatient Proposed Payment Systems (IPPS) proposed rule for fiscal year 2024. Comments included supporting increased payment rates to facilities for arthroplasty and inflationary updates for general acute hospitals, while also calling for increased physician payment and endorsing an annual inflation-based payment update for physicians based on the full Medicare Economic Index (MEI). The letter also supports updates to the hospital value-based purchasing program related to TJA and inpatient quality reporting program. For more information, read the letter.
