Last week AAHKS joined 14 other orthopaedic specialty societies in expressing several concerns regarding the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) Medically Unlikely Edit (MUE) and Procedure-to-Procedure Edit (PTP) programs. These programs need revision to allow for stakeholder input, changes to appeals processes and more. AAHKS and the other signatories have requested to work with CMS to fix the outlined concerns. For more information, read the letter.
