Thirty AAHKS leaders convened in Washington, D.C. this week for the AAHKS Legislative Retreat, a two-day advocacy action event focused on maintaining patient access to hip and knee care, health care consolidation issues and advocacy planning for the new Administration. Staff and leaders from the AAHKS Board of Directors, Committees and Health Policy Fellowship met with 30 Congressional offices to impress on them the necessity for urgent solutions to Medicare reimbursement, investments in sustainable Alternative Payment Model participation and codification of common-sense Medicare Advantage prior authorization reforms. Shown below (clockwise from top left) are AAHKS members meeting with Senator John Barrasso, MD, Representative Greg Murphy, MD, Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks, MD and Senator Roger Marshall, MD.
