Women in Arthroplasty Come Together in Texas

Aimed at increasing gender representation and diversity in the field of orthopaedic surgery, the AAHKS Women in Arthroplasty (WIA) Committee organized several events during the Annual Meeting to spotlight and support female hip and knee surgeons, including a booth crawl for female arthroplasty surgeons to meet industry and AAHKS leaders during tonight’s networking reception. WIA will present its Empowerment Award tomorrow to recognize a person in the orthopaedic community that has gone above and beyond to elevate and support women in arthroplasty in a unique and impactful way. One of yesterday’s Industry Symposia specifically for women provided more opportunities for hands-on learning.
